About Comfort Keepers
Comfort Keepers® of Bremerton has been providing in-home elder care for seniors since James and Pam Woolford established the franchise in 2002.
The Woolfords bring to Comfort Keepers a personal understanding of the challenges families face as they strive to assure the happiness and well-being of aging parents in the midst of their other responsibilities. When Jim’s mother, a diabetic, first needed 24-hour care he flew to Florida once a week to help his sister with caregiving. The responsibility was wearing on his sister and flying back and forth was getting expensive.
Looking for a home care agency to help with her care, Jim and Pam researched providers in Florida and Washington, where they lived. They couldn’t find a home care agency that came highly recommended. So, they decided to enter the home care business and chose to open a Comfort Keepers franchise. They were impressed by Comfort Keepers’ reputation and approach to senior care – helping seniors maintain an active lifestyle for optimal independence, health and well-being.
The Woolfords founded the Bremerton Comfort Keepers franchise and moved Jim’s mother to Washington so she could benefit from Comfort Keepers’ superior care.
Ever since, their franchise has consistently ranked as one of the top Comfort Keepers offices in the Northwest United States. Pam supervises, trains and supports Comfort Keepers’ team of compassionate caregivers – Comfort Keepers – while Jim, a Certified Senior Advisor (CSA), leads the office and markets its services to reach a continually growing number of seniors and their families.
Because of their personal experience, they empathize with families who are concerned for their loved ones’ well-being, yet uncertain how to provide for their needs while working and raising their own families. Comfort Keepers answers their concerns with a comprehensive array of personal care, companionship care, technology solutions and other elder care services.
The Woolfords’ Comfort Keepers team includes other special individuals who share their commitment to maintaining high standards in senior care and providing excellent care with compassion. Like the Woolfords, many were drawn to Comfort Keepers by personal experience in caring for a loved one.
A Senior Caregiving Partnership
Comfort Keeper comes into the home to allow the family caregiver time to rest for a few hours, go on vacation, go to work or take care of other responsibilities.
Many families live too far away from their loved one to have a day-to-day role in caregiving, so for their peace of mind we keep them fully informed about their loved one’s care. In addition, we bring to their attention any concerns we may observe in the course of caregiving.

Interactive Caregiving™ is based on four primary pillars, which Comfort Keepers leverage to care for, engage, and interact with our clients:
- An active senior mind promotes independence, better mental and physical health, happiness, and a longer life.
- A physically active senior maintains strength and independence, lessening or delaying the effects of aging.
- A well-nourished senior is more energetic, both physically and mentally.
- A safe senior lives in an environment that reduces the likelihood of accidents and promotes timely response when illness or accidents occur.
With our Interactive Caregiving approach, we are able to raise seniors’ quality of life to a much higher level than typical in-home care providers.
